The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Express Displeasure About Sizing Changes
Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.
The second-hand shopping app has altered its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying all shoppers about the modification.
Social Media Backlash
Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with similar services.
It has advised users to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Updates
Previously, the sizing featured numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The new system has a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.
Required Changes
A different user, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she stated.
Platform Context
The app has more than 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.
It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: last year, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options following member complaints.
